Art impacts our emotions and can motivate us to value and protect what we care about. I am in awe of the beauty in nature and the colourful diversity of culture and my aim is to inspire others through my art to appreciate the natural world, and so be motivated to join those campaigning to protect it. I believe that admiration and respect for nature is inherent in each and every one of us, but gets buried under a mountain of consumer-orientated lifestyles. Being an artist as well as working in the field as an anthropologist and photographer is an on-going process of learning, sharing knowledge and wisdom and growing as an individual. As each layer after layer emerges on the canvas so the journey unfolds in real life. I hope that my audience are inspired and enjoy viewing as much as I have loved to create.
We are the stories we tell; I hope you enjoy mine
Clare Anne Littleton (CAL)
"In order to see birds it is necessary to become a part of the silence."
Clare Littleton effortlessly communicates a wealth of worldly experiences through her inherent artistic skill as she relentlessly develops her creative technique in order to eloquently and realistically convey three dimensional ideas through painting. Her delicate artworks are augmented through an expert application of oil, onto either canvas or copper, that presents the viewer with an illusionary sense of reality that stimulates the imagination and encourages them to consider the deeper meanings that lay beneath the surface. Littleton, heavily influenced by the natural world and the human form, fluently translates sincere and soulful emotions through depictions of diverse subjects that span across the globe through diverse cultures and express her profound affinity with the utmost organic aspects of the earth.
